Children's Mental Health Awareness Week (BES Shout Outs)

May 1st through 7th is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week. In honor of Children's Mental Health Awareness Week, GCPS is highlighting some of the mental health supports and resources that are available to our students.  Today, we are highlighting Byrd Elementary's Shout Outs.

At Byrd Elementary, students and staff use shout-outs to help build a strong Byrd community. Teachers use shout-outs to acknowledge the positive behavior and academic achievements of students, while students use shout-outs to lift one another up.

"Students get very excited to turn in their shout out to be read, and students love hearing their name over the intercom for doing something nice and kind."
